Barangay Alauli is part of Masantol's eastern and coastal area, which includes small and remote fishing villages such as Sagrada, Sapang Kawayan, Nigui, Balibago, and Bagang. These areas are seasonally affected by heavy flooding and are prone to natural hazards like tropical cyclones and storm surges. Due to subsidence in the Pampanga delta, residents have shifted from traditional agriculture to cash-based aquaculture for their livelihood.
