San Luis is a second-class municipality in the province of Pampanga, Central Luzon, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 58,551 people. With a land area of approximately 57.74 square kilometers, San Luis is a mid-sized town situated in the eastern part of Pampanga.
The municipality is bordered by the towns of Candaba to the north, San Simon to the west, and the province of Nueva Ecija to the east. It is primarily an agricultural town, with vast rice fields and farmlands contributing to its local economy. San Luis is known for its vibrant farming communities and local produce, such as rice, tilapia, and various vegetables.
San Luis traces its roots back to the Spanish colonial period and was officially founded in 1742. It was named in honor of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga (San Luis Gonzaga), the town's patron saint. The San Luis Gonzaga Parish Church remains one of the town's historical landmarks and plays a central role in the town’s religious and cultural life.
Every June 21, the town celebrates the feast of San Luis Gonzaga with religious processions, cultural programs, and community gatherings, reflecting the town’s deep Catholic roots and strong sense of tradition.
