Floridablanca is a first-class municipality situated in the southwestern part of the province of Pampanga, Central Luzon, Philippines. Covering an area of approximately 175.5 square kilometers, it is bordered by Porac to the north, Lubao to the south, and the provinces of Bataan and Zambales to the west. As of the 2020 census, Floridablanca is home to around 135,542 residents.
Historically established in the 19th century, Floridablanca derives its name from José Moñino, Count of Floridablanca, a Spanish nobleman and statesman. The town played an important role during the colonial and wartime periods, once hosting a U.S. Air Force communication facility, which has since been repurposed for civilian use.
Primarily an agricultural town, Floridablanca is among Pampanga’s leading producers of rice, sugarcane, and root crops, benefiting from the fertile plains and abundant irrigation from the nearby Pasig-Potrero River. The municipality is also known for its growing poultry and livestock industry, which supports both local livelihoods and regional markets.
Floridablanca’s cultural identity is deeply rooted in Kapampangan tradition. Local festivities, such as the Domus Festival, pay tribute to its heritage, honoring its patron saint, Saint Joseph the Worker, and celebrating the town's unity and prosperity. Traditional crafts, cuisine, and community events remain strong features of Floridablanca’s social life.
In recent years, the municipality has witnessed steady development, marked by improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Its proximity to key cities like San Fernando and Clark Freeport Zone positions it as a strategic hub for future growth while maintaining its rural appeal.
With its rich agricultural base, historical legacy, and cultural pride, Floridablanca continues to be a vital contributor to Pampanga’s socio-economic development and cultural landscape.
